Cathay Pacific The Pier Business Class Lounge
Cathay Pacific did an INCREDIBLE job on renovating their flagship long lounge, The Pier in Hong Kong!
The Pier Business Class is based on the elegant design template crafted by London-based StudioIlse and already seen to best effect in The Pier First Class lounge, which now rated as the world’s best first class lounge.
I have skipped visiting the new Pier lounge last time in Hong Kong, and opted to go directly to the Wing and Pier First Class Lounge, I have proof myself WRONG!
So on this recent flying the A350 trip in Asia, I finally paid a visit to the stunning Pier Business Class Lounge, and I LOVE every moment of it!
The Pier Business Class Lounge is located near Gate 65.
It’s just one gate further past the entrance to the Pier First Class Lounge.
The Pier Business Class Lounge welcomes Cathay Pacific business class passengers, Marco Polo Gold and Silver card-holders and their Oneworld Sapphire/Emerald status members.

Passing the entrance, I was immediately impressed by the green plantation and natural decor used in the lounge.

I turned left and entered a large deli-style food hall with a grab to go coffee cart at the entrance.

The deli-style Food Hall resembles a market, where you can select from a variety of quick bites—tapas, cheese board, salads, fish platter—for a convenient and flavourful experience. Options are plentiful, and you’ll find hot food, sandwiches, desserts, and fruit, all available to order.

Wow! That was A LOT to offer from the standard of a business class lounge. The offering here even exceeded many First Class Lounges I've been in the world.
Past the Food Hall is the Bar area. Lots of comfortable seating and a very large bar.

One of the things that’s incredible about this lounge is the size and variety of seating options.
There’s countertop seating, two-person tables, communal tables, sofas etc. You will find your perfect seat!
The seating along the windows feature great apron views for Avgeeks like me!

The lounge also address business travelers needs and feature the new Solo chairs, crafted specifically for Cathay Pacific to mesh perfectly with the lounge's relaxed residential vibe.
The Solo is a rethinking of the Solus workstation which has become a hallmark element of Cathay's previous airport lounges blueprint.
The plushly padded Solo seats are noticeably more spacious and more comfortable.

Next is the popular Noodle Bar—an iconic feature in Cathay's lounges— serving fresh and made-to-order dishes, such as dan dan and wonton noodles.

There's no shortage of seating area.

Unique to the Cathay Pacific Pier Business lounge is a Teahouse—where a superior tea experience awaits.
This is a 'first' for Cathay Pacific, created in conjunction with UK-based tea specialist Jing.
Teahouse focuses on authentic and high-end Chinese teas. Many favourites including exquisite green, black, and white tea flavours, as well as a special menu with herbal, honey, and spice infusions are available for your enjoyment.

For those who are in need are some rest, the relaxation area is at the end of the long lounge.
The Relaxation Room—A calm, quiet zone with 14 low upholstered daybeds and footstools.
The lounge also offers 14 shower suites.

My Verdict
Cathay Pacific did an INCREDIBLE job with this renovation.
I found an hour in the lounge WAY TOO SHORT to enjoy the facility and amenity it offers.
The lounge is beautiful and functional and an awesome place to spend some time before flight.
I know where I am heading next time before my flight in Hong Kong!
